Alfred State College: Ed Foundation Names Maryanne Cole to Board

Dr. Maryanne Cole, Bradford, PA, assistant professor of English at Alfred State College has been named to the board of the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. As a board member, Cole will contribute her skills to the management of the property affairs, business, and concerns of the corporation; she will also participate in the adoption of resolutions and regulations for the conduct of the management of the affairs of the corporation.

The chamber musicians of the Shanghai Quartet spoke and performed last year for undergraduates in the honors program at Pace University's Lubin School of Business. Their appearance typified the program's unusually-broad range of high-powered presenters that also included more familiar business luminaries like Rosabeth Moss Kanter of the Harvard Business School and Joel Birnbaum, the special technical advisor to the chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

Assigning a Novel to Business Students Sends a Message about Pace University Business School: Dean Joseph Baczko gives 900 new undergraduates "The Namesake"
Dean Joseph Baczko of Pace University's Lubin School of Business sent a no-nonsense signal this summer about the way his school is increasing its focus on global perspectives and cross-disciplinary problem solving. He put in a bulk order to Houghton-Mifflin for 900 paperback copies of "The Namesake," the 2003 novel by Pulitzer-Prize-winner Jhumpa Lahiri that recently was made into a movie.

Pace University today announced the creation of a $1,000,000 fund that is expected to let students enrolled in the Lubin Leaders and Scholars honors program make their international travel experience requirement more meaningful and affordable.
